We here at Cairo Animal Hospital, like you, care greatly for your pet’s health and want to do what is in his/her best interest, Before your pet is anesthetized a doctor will perform a full physical exam and we also recommend that pre-anesthetic blood work be performed. This blood work will allow the doctors to know if there are any underlying conditions that may affect the anesthesia.
Surgical laser is also an option that decreases bleeding, pain, swelling, and quickens the healing time. It will also reduce the risk of infection.
With any surgery performed at Cairo Animal Hospital we highly recommend sending home pain medicine as well as giving a pre-op medication that makes it more comfortable for your pet.
